Influenced by artists like Amy Winehouse, Bonnie Raitt, Brittany Howard, Janis Joplin, and Sharron Jones, Johanna Daze has been wowing audiences with her powerhouse rock vocals and signature smokey tone for over a decade. At age 14, she saved her own money and bought a beat-up acoustic guitar from a camping supply store and taught herself how to play drawing inspiration from vintage vinyl and iconic songwriters like Lennon & McCartney and Carole King.  She won the Kitchener Blues Festival Youth Legacy Award in 2013, earning her a performance on the Main Stage that summer, along with a track on the festival CD.  She returned to the Main Stage at the Blues Festival in 2015 with the blues-inspired band SoulDrive. The group was also featured at the International Blues Challenge Youth Showcase in Memphis, and were finalists in CBC's Searchlight competition, as well as the Toronto Blues Society Talent Search that same year. After a brief hiatus, Daze has been back in the studio and recently released her first single “Loved By You.” Her next single “That Road” will be out on June 17th, with her full debut solo EP being released July 15th, 2022.
