Hiring: Embedded Music Journalist /Content Creator
Location: Kitchener/GTA (Southern Ontario)
Type: Part-time, flexible; occasional travel (expenses covered)
Compensation: Base + profit share

The Brief
We’re hiring an Embedded Music Journalist/ Content Creator to ride along with Avalon Stone and her band on show nights, rehearsals, sessions—and capture the story as it happens. You’ll be on camera and behind it: spark quick conversations, film raw/high-energy moments, and cut punchy, cinematic shorts.
Primary publishing: Avalon’s fan community
Highlights/excerpts: @AvalonStoneMusic (IG/TikTok) + YouTube
Goal: help fans feel like they’re in the room as a new alt-rock artist grows.

What You’ll Do
-
Field reporting: Be present at shows/sessions; clock the small details (soundcheck quirks, setlist tweaks, gear choices, fan energy).
-
On-camera segments: Run 30–90s mini chats with Avalon/band/fans; confident, warm, fast on your feet.
-
Capture & edit: Shoot vertically on show days and turn around short-form edits that feel live, feral, and cinematic.
-
Recurring bits: Pitch and produce micro-segments (e.g., post-set pulse; van confessional; midnight musings).
-
Publish flow: Deliver to the fan community first; then prep approved highlights for public socials + YouTube.
-
Ethics & releases: Get quick, clear consent from fans on camera when needed; log credits, keep notes. Accuracy over gossip; journalism standards apply (context, clarity, credit).

You Are
-
Scene fluent: alt/grunge/hard-rock isn’t homework—it’s home.
-
An emerging music journalist / docu-minded creator who thrives in loud rooms and finds the story fast.
-
On-camera comfortable and a natural interviewer—able to spark honest, energetic answers without forcing it.
-
Shooter/editor: phone-first or mirrorless; fast in CapCut/Premiere/FCP; solid audio instincts.
-
Stage-smart: know where to be, when not to be in the way, and how to compose in low light.
-
Based in KW/GTA; available for regional travel (expenses covered).

Nice-to-Haves
-
Photojournalism chops (selects, sequences).
-
Writing skills for captions/mini copy; basic transcription.
-
Light motion graphics; LUTs/color basics.
-
Experience collecting releases/credits in the field.

Why This Rocks
-
Real access: studio, backstage, green room, studio, van.
-
Your pieces shape how this era of Avalon Stone feels to fans.
-
Freedom to experiment; portfolio gold.
-
Potential to grow into a longer-term role across artists.
